Undeterred, Jeremy, after a fiery exchange, managed to convince his co-worker, Jules, to meet him at a tea shop at noon.
Amidst their preparations, BRO-ski upheld a promise, procuring alcohol for a youthful drive-thru worker, while Jeremy painstakingly crafted an alibi, preparing for the forthcoming confrontation with Jules.
An air of unease filled the tea shop as Jeremy, accompanied by BRO-ski, walked in to meet with Jules. The homeless BRO-ski’s presence seemed to unsettle Jules due to his affiliation with rough crowds. But the tension escalated as Jeremy abandoned his alibi, confessing his excursion into the Fae Wilds. Jules, questioning Jeremy’s sanity, wondered if he might be the actual murderer.
As the conversation evolved, Detective Emiko Sato of the SAPD homicide division slipped into the tea shop undercover, maintaining a watchful eye on the gathering. The atmosphere grew further fraught when a menacing man with a shaved head and facial scars settled at a nearby table.
While BRO-ski walked away to divert the detective’s attention, the stranger approached Jeremy, accusing him of the murders, and declaring his intent to stop him. The situation spiraled into chaos when the man attempted to stab Jeremy with a concealed blade, missing narrowly. Detective Sato, reacting swiftly, fired a shot at the attacker, who skillfully evaded the bullet.
In a courageous act, Jeremy tackled the man to protect Jules, apparently incapacitating him. The fray escalated as Aubert and Gigi, in her fearsome weregator form, stormed the tea shop, disarming Detective Sato. The attacker, however, revived with startling speed, his skin and eyes turning black and a glowing sigil materializing above his head, revealing his true identity as a member of the Blackened Denarius. The group engaged in a ferocious battle, with Jeremy managing to escape with Jules and the others unleashing their powers on the Denarian.
After a vicious struggle, marked by Gigi’s failed attack, Aubert’s fractured leg, and a fiery onslaught by BRO-ski, Emiko delivered three precise shots, obliterating the Denarian’s upper skull. But Aubert, cognizant of the Denarian’s true nature, knew the fight wasn’t over until he secured the demon’s coin. After a gruesome decapitation and disembowelment of the demon, Aubert finally procured the coin, ending the terrifying confrontation.
The session closed on a tense note, with the group, led by Detective Sato, returning to Jeremy’s bookshop to secure the copy of “Codex Mysterium Bune” before deciding to reconvene at the Basilica to discuss their harrowing encounter and plot their next steps.
