The session picked up in the heart of the chase, with Aubert and Gigi in hot pursuit of the now-invisible Bro through the dense woods. After a short scramble, Gigi’s keen olfactory senses zeroed in on the Bro’s scent, leading them to his hidden location. Aubert quickly claimed the newfound artifacts from the Bro, and together, they trekked back to the secluded trailer park.
Amid the clash of cultures, Aubert faced off against a couple of the park residents, Herschel and Bubba. Despite the tension, he secured access to their antiquated rotary phone, reaching out to Detective Sato. Shortly afterward, Sato and Jeremy arrived at the park, transporting the party to the relative safety of Aubert’s safehouse.
It was here that Aubert disclosed the chilling truth – they had the preserved body of Amina Kone, the most recent murder victim. Strangely enough, the body’s lack of decay corroborated their tale of having jumped a week forward in time. Placing her trust in the party, Sato urged them to dispose of the body discreetly, ensuring no fallout would come back to haunt her.
With the gravity of the situation in mind, Aubert directed the party to take care of the body while he went off to stow away the three new coins and artifacts in the same hidden place as the first coin. During this time, Gigi reclaimed her vehicle, now plastered with a week’s worth of parking tickets, and led the party to dispose of the body in the swamp, feeding it to her summoned alligator companions.
The party reunited at the Fountain of Youth, poised to meet with Lady Seraphina, the High Sidhe and Summer Court Emissary of St. Augustine. There, Jeremy was drawn to a gazebo enveloped in blooming roses. They discovered a silver metal circle set into the gazebo’s foundation. Crossing its threshold instilled a peculiar sensation, akin to losing something profound yet unidentifiable. Aubert soon deduced the key to summoning Lady Seraphina – by invoking her name thrice.
The encounter brought forth revelations and negotiations. Lady Seraphina proposed an exchange – she would be freed from her debt to Lilith, the leader of the local Denarians, if they could eliminate her. Lilith was currently residing at the manor of Don Antonio Caruso, head of the Caruso Crime Family. Furthermore, Eleanor “Nell” Thompson, the local Paranet Coordinator, was implicated as the informant leaking the victims’ identities and could possibly lead them to the murderer.
For this vital information, Lady Seraphina demanded a debt from Gigi, Jeremy, and Aubert – a promise to serve as her assassins for a single target. This target, by the agreement, would be a killer whose victim had never taken a life. While the Bro rejected the debt, Lady Seraphina agreed to the terms, reserving the right to exact vengeance upon him if the others failed to fulfill their part of the deal.
The session wrapped up as the day faded, edging them one step closer to the looming full moon. For the first time, the party was granted a respite – there were no immediate threats chasing them, and their target’s location was known. While Nell’s whereabouts still hung in uncertainty, the Caruso Estate held the dangerous promise of Lilith’s presence.
